Below are some article and video links that I found interesting this past week on the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

Also, I want to state something important that many people do not understand. Any person that is giving the narrative that the Coronavirus is harmless and “just like the flu” does not know science and cannot do math. I am shocked, because I am finding that even well-respected economists cannot do simple math and people entrust millions of dollars to them.

These are the facts that you need to know:

While the seasonal flu affects over 2 million people a year in the U.S., less than 0.1% of people die each year from the seasonal flu.

Meanwhile, according to the WHO, about 3.4% of people infected with COVID-19 will die from the disease. However, that is only if all infected persons receive proper medical care. It is known that about 20% of people who are infected with COVID-19 become serious enough that they need to be hospitalized. If those 20% cannot receive adequate care in a hospital (for example, no more hospital beds and they are sent back home), then the fatality rate jumps to 15-17% of those infected with the disease.

Meanwhile, the fatality rate of the Spanish flu pandemic back in 1917, etc., was about 2-3% of those infected. It is estimated that between 50-100 million people died at the time with the Spanish flu.

At a fatality rate of at least 3.4%, COVID-19 is already worse than the Spanish flu pandemic.

Finally, people need to understand the simple math here of “exponential growth”. Without aggressive measures to halt the spread of COVID-19 in the U.S., the number of people infected is doubling every 3-6 days. Considering different factors, the pandemic will peak sometime between July/August with military sources saying they are anticipating at least 3 million deaths in the U.S.–that is a conservative estimate based on a 3.4% fatality rate and if the healthcare system does not collapse due to lack of hospital beds to care for the seriously ill. However, based on statistical models, the U.S. will run out of hospital beds sometime in the month of May.

The numbers that I am quoting are “best care scenarios”. None of these statistical models include variables like the collapse of the supply chains from China’s failing economy, which is the 2nd largest economy in the world. Also, over 80% of pharmaceutical drugs, including 98% of antibiotics are made in China, and over 50% of Americans take daily medications for various health conditions. So, none of these models on the Coronavirus factor in all the people who might need medical treatment in hospitals for lack of medications because of the failed economy in China. So, we are headed for a big storm very quickly.

However, there is a solution to this coming crisis, which is this: President Trump must be honest with the people about what is about to happen and recommend natural anti-virals–natural medicines that have been proven to work with similar type viruses. He must not wait for a vaccine which will likely take 18-months to develop and test properly and will likely fail and cause terrible side-effects and possible death as many vaccines do. An aggressive push for natural remedies will save the American people and the economy. Unfortunately, there is a very short window of time for Trump to get a handle on this, before the masses of people wake up and become panicked and fearful as they see the exponential growth curve of the virus spike upward. We have probably got between 3-6 weeks before real panic and fear sets in and medical martial law becomes inevitable.

And on the spiritual side, the U.S. Bishops really need to push for the Real Presence of Our Lord in the Most Holy Eucharist. If we simply had true, deep, abiding faith in God, Jesus, the Divine Physician, would heal us all through His Real Presence in the Most Holy Eucharist. But, weakness and cowardice on the part of many Church leaders is keeping us from seeking the real source of healing–body, soul, and spirit–in the Most Holy Eucharist. Jesus has even said in a heavenly message, that He has all the healings that people need if they would just spend time with Him in Holy Communion. All things are possible to God and yet, we do not believe in His Holy Word. It is a really sad state that mankind is in today.
