Unfortunately, my schedule precludes me from meeting and talking with you at the Catholic Leadership Conference today in Denver.
First, I would like to send my warm greetings to the Denver Archbishop Samuel Aquila. In discussions with my Catholic Advisory Group, it is clear Archbishop Aqulia’s leadership in the Denver Archdiocese has been exemplary, as was the leadership of his predecessor, Archbishop Charles Chaput.
Second, should I be elected President, I look forward to working with these two respected leaders of the Catholic Church in America, their brother bishops, and Congress, on issues of critical importance to the Catholic Church and Catholics.
Catholics in the United States of America are a rich part of our nation’s history. The United States was, and is, strengthened through Catholic men, women, priests and religious Sisters, ministering to people, marching in the Civil Rights movement, educating millions of children in Catholic schools, creating respected health care institutions, and in their founding and helping the ongoing growth of the pro-life cause.
I have a message for Catholics: I will be there for you. I will stand with you. I will fight for you.
As First Lady, US Senator, Secretary of State, and two-time presidential candidate, Hillary Clinton has been hostile to the core issues and policies of greatest concern to Catholics: life, religious liberty, Supreme Court nominations, affordable and quality healthcare, educational choice and home schooling.
For instance, Hillary Clinton supports forcing The Little Sisters of the Poor who have taken care of the elderly poor since 1839, pay for contraceptives in their health care plan (even though they have never wanted them, never used them and never will), and having the government fine them heavily if they continue to refuse to abide by this onerous mandate.
That is a hostility to religious liberty you will never see in a Trump Administration.
Hillary Clinton’s hostility to the issues of greatest importance to Catholics is made worse by her running mate Senator Tim Kaine.
Once pro-life and against partial birth abortion, Kaine now has a 100% voting record from the National Abortion Rights Action League. Kaine once was for traditional marriage, even saying “it is a uniquely valuable institution that must be preserved”, but as of 2013, Kaine no longer supported traditional marriage. And on religious liberty? Shockingly, even Kaine supports forcing the Little Sisters of the Poor to pay for contraceptives in their health care plan, and to have the government fine them heavily if they refuse.
On issues and policies of greatest concern to Catholics, the differences between myself and Hillary Clinton are stark. I will stand with Catholics and fight for you. Hillary Clinton has been openly hostile to these core Catholic issues for a long time, and is only going to be worse with Tim Kaine now following her lead.
On life, I am, and will remain, pro-life. I will defend your religious liberties and the right to fully and freely practice your religion, as individuals, business owners and academic institutions. I will make absolutely certain religious orders like The Little Sisters of Poor are not bullied by the federal government because of their religious beliefs. I will protect and work to expand educational choice, the rights of homeschooling families, and end Common Core. I will repeal and replace Obamacare so you can have better and more affordable health care. I will keep our country and communities safe while respecting the dignity of each human being. I will help Catholic families and workers, and all families and workers, by bringing jobs back to our country where they belong. And I will appoint Justices to the Supreme Court who will strictly interpret the Constitution and not legislate from the bench, like Justice Clarence Thomas and the late and beloved great Catholic thinker and jurist, Justice Antonin Scalia.
We are at a crossroads in our country. Much like 1980. But the stakes are higher now – the highest they have ever been. We have two candidates representing entirely different agendas for our country that will take it in two completely different directions for generations to come. And our direction offers a much brighter future for our beloved country.
Thank you for giving me the time to share my thoughts with you on some of the critical issues facing us today.

COMMENT (by a soul): While I am a bit hesitant to put this information on MaryRefugeOfHolyLove, as I am not trying to “politicize” the blog in anyway, but I want my fellow Catholic Americans to be informed, as Heaven calls us to be when we vote in November for a U.S. President. So, here are three recent statements from the Donald Trump campaign that directly affect Catholic Americans. I truly hope this information helps people to decide. God bless!
STATEMENT: “Issues of Importance to Catholics” – September 22, 2016 –
Religious liberty is enshrined in the First Amendment to the Constitution. It is our first liberty and provides the most important protection in that it protects our right of conscience. Activist judges and executive orders issued by Presidents who have no regard for the Constitution have put these protections in jeopardy. If I am elected president and Congress passes the First Amendment Defense Act, I will sign it to protect the deeply held religious beliefs of Catholics and the beliefs of Americans of all faiths. The Little Sisters of the Poor, or any religious order for that matter, will always have their religious liberty protected on my watch and will not have to face bullying from the government because of their religious beliefs.
Pro-Life
I am and will remain pro-life. Public funding of abortion providers is an insult to people of faith at the least, and is an affront to good government and governance, at best. I will work to support the dignity of human life from conception to natural, dignified death.
Judicial Nominations
Judicial nominations, particularly appointments to the United States Supreme Court, are one of the most critical issues of this election. I will appoint Justices to the Supreme Court like the late and beloved great Catholic thinker and jurist, Justice Antonin Scalia, who will strictly interpret the Constitution and not legislate from the bench.
Education
Catholic education is a shining example of how education can work very well on the local level without the meddling of Washington bureaucrats. I will defend the religious liberty of Catholic schools, private schools, charter schools, and homeschooling families. I will be the biggest cheerleader for school choice programs so we can give every child in America, particularly disadvantaged African American and Hispanic American children trapped in failing government run schools, the best possible educational opportunities. I will end Common Core and will get the federal government out of the public education business.
Healthcare
It appears Obamacare is certain to collapse of its own weight. If I am elected president, I will work with Congress to bring much-needed free market reforms to the healthcare industry. Working together to create sound public policy that will broaden healthcare access, we will make healthcare more affordable and improve the quality of the care available to all Americans.
Jobs and Taxation
When it comes to jobs and taxation, our economic policy must be geared towards making it easier to hire, invest, build, grow and produce in America – creating a level playing field for our workers and businesses in global competition. High taxes and excessive regulation push jobs overseas, reduce wages, and create a smaller economy for everyone. There is no dignity for families found in such policies. I will help Catholic families and workers, and all families and workers, by bringing jobs back to our country where they belong.
Safety and Security
The first charge in the Preamble to our Constitution is to “Provide for the common defense.” As we are living in dangerous times, it is all the more imperative to maintain law and order to protect the safety and security of our communities. We will create a safer America by securing our borders and ports and by modernizing our military. As we bring stronger security to the nation, we will remain the “shining light on the hill” for all who seek liberty, security and peace.

Keith Blackwell is a justice of the Supreme Court of Georgia. He was appointed to the position in 2012. He had previously served on the Court of Appeals of Georgia. Before serving on the bench, Justice Blackwell was a Deputy Special Attorney General of the State of Georgia, an Assistant District Attorney in Cobb County, and a commercial litigator in private practice. Justice Blackwell is a graduate of the University of Georgia School of Law.
Charles Canady is a justice of the Supreme Court of Florida. He has served in that role since 2008, and he served as the court’s chief justice from 2010 to 2012. Prior to his appointment, Justice Canady served as a judge of the Florida Second District Court of Appeal and as a member of the United States House of Representatives for four terms. Mike Lee is the Junior U.S. Senator from Utah and currently serves on the Senate Judiciary Committee. He has previously served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in Utah and as a Supreme Court Clerk for Justice Alito.
Edward Mansfield is a justice of the Iowa Supreme Court. He was appointed to the court in 2011 and retained by voters in 2012. Justice Mansfield previously served as a judge of the Iowa Court of Appeals. He also teaches law at Drake University as an adjunct professor. Justice Mansfield is a graduate of Yale Law School.

Amul Thapar is a judge of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky, serving since his appointment in 2007, when he became the first South Asian Article III judge. He has taught law students at the University of Cincinnati and Georgetown. Judge Thapar has served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in Washington, D.C. and the Southern District of Ohio. Immediately prior to his judicial appointment, Judge Thapar was the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Kentucky. Judge Thapar received his law degree from the University of California, Berkeley.
Timothy Tymkovich is the chief judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. Judge Tymkovich was appointed to the bench in 2003. He previously served as Colorado Solicitor General. Judge Tymkovich is a graduate of the University of Colorado College of Law.
Robert Young is the chief justice of the Supreme Court of Michigan. He was appointed to the court in 1999, and became part of a majority of justices who embraced originalism and led what one scholar described as a “textualism revolution.” Justice Young previously served as a judge on the Michigan Court of Appeals. Chief Justice Young is a graduate of Harvard Law School.

Padre Pio comes. I wish him a happy feast day. He nods and smiles. He says:
“Praise be to Jesus.”
“Your country is on the precipice of an important decision with this upcoming election. The decision is between right and wrong. Do the citizens desire to continue their downward spiral into amoral behavior or will they choose redirection and once again be ‘One Nation under God’?”
“If you cannot see where certain policies are leading you, take your head out of the sand! God does not want sins such as abortion and same-sex marriage to be legal issues. Sins are between the soul and God – not the soul, the Supreme Court and God! Stop and think what is more important – what you want or what God Commands!”
“This nation has this one last chance to redeem itself in God’s Eyes and to return to prosperity. Otherwise, it will become more and more dependent upon foreign, anti-Christian powers. Decide for good.”

In this regard, he is full of guile and dishonest if it serves him well. He is most likely ambitious towards his own recognition and importance. The liberal does not hold in his heart the welfare of others, unless such a concern would further his own influence in the world.”
“The liberal is open and tolerant of any point of view, unless it is conservative. He never stops opposing the conservative, Christian point of view and will not allow his heart to be convicted in the Truth. He surrounds himself with misinformation and those who agree with him.”
“It is most important these days that people who live in the Truth of Holy Love make the effort to reach out to those who live in the error of liberalism. Be courageous for the sake of souls. By your efforts, promote change.”

He is quite willing to oppose the Commandments in thought, word and deed.”
“The liberal thinks his opinions represent freedom, when in fact, they represent slavery to sin. He has little or no regard for pleasing God. He chooses to please himself and other people. He considers those of a more traditional, conservative viewpoint as obstacles to the Truth and a nuisance to be overcome.”
“The liberal does not see the direction he is following which leads away from God. He views all who do not follow in his footsteps as misguided and ill-informed.”
“I can tell you the liberal never passes from this life directly into Heaven. The fortunate ones are detained in Purgatory.”

Synopsis: In discharging the Mission and Ministry of Holy Love do not lose heart. On the contrary, renounce actions which shame conceals in the dark, avoid unscrupulous conduct and do not corrupt the Word of God; but make known the Truth of Jesus Christ, which is Holy Love, commending yourself to your examination of conscience according to the Ten Commandments in the sight of God. If the Truth is concealed, it is only to those who are perishing; for in their case they have been blinded to Truth by their unbelieving hearts and minds – not seeing the Light of the Gospel of Christ Who is the Truth and the Image of God.
Therefore, having this ministry by the mercy of God, we do not lose heart. We have renounced disgraceful, underhanded ways; we refuse to practice cunning or to tamper with God’s Word, but by the open statement of the Truth we would commend ourselves to every man’s conscience in the sight of God. And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled only to those who are perishing. In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the Light of the Gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the likeness of God.

“I am praying that the Holy Spirit – the Spirit of Truth – enlightens the heart of the world as to the real dangers that threaten mankind today. The greatest danger is the inability to recognize Truth. This feeds the spirit of confusion and obstructs the soul’s understanding of good versus evil. Many lies are presented as Truth by politicians who are self-seeking and ambitious. So many in the general public either do not recognize this or summarily excuse it.”
“You must expect the Truth from your leaders and accept nothing less. You need to make your leaders accountable to the Truth. This is so not only in the secular realm, but in religious leadership, as well. Good leaders keep their followers on course, without regard for their own popularity. Our Lady comes as Our Lady of Sorrows. She says:
“Praise be to Jesus.”
“My greatest sorrow these days is mankind’s propensity to please himself without regard for God and His Laws. Man uses every sort of rationalization to embrace sin without calling it a sin. He allows language to redefine good versus evil, thus obscuring the line of sin versus no sin. My Heart sorrows for the state of the conscience of the world. You do not see, dear children, that the path so many of you follow leads away from Jesus and your salvation. You are accepting popular opinions over God’s Commandments. My Heart trembles at the thought of God’s Justice.”
“During these times, please understand, that if you lend your support to one whom advances the cause of abortion or Planned Parenthood, you are guilty of these sins yourself. If you support politicians who are in favor of same-sex marriage, you support these sins as well. These days, morals and spirituality are bound up in a knot with politics. Holy Love is the way to undo the knot and make choices which appease My Sorrowful Heart.”
St. John Vianney, Cure d’Ars and Patron of Priests says:

“The moral problems of the day: abortion, same-sex marriage, gender identification, are not being addressed from the pulpit as sin. The world tries to define these sins in the light of legal rights. It is Cardinals, Bishops and priests who must lead spiritually and not relegate the definition of sin to the likes of mass media and popular opinion and legal systems.”
“The main problem in this country and in the world at large is the inability and, or disinterest in the general population to distinguish good from evil. This is reflected in your political choices. Poor leaders are the ones who do not embrace honesty and therefore, do not lead with honesty. If a clear line is not drawn between right and wrong – good and evil – leadership fails you.”
“The election fast approaching in this country will be determined by mankind’s ability to determine good from evil – Truth from untruth.”
“When evil takes root in hearts it is revealed in opinions. These opinions lay waste to God’s Commandments. If the person is in leadership – either secular or religious – he is in a position to influence many with the error that is in his own heart. Listening to peoples’ opinions is the way to discern if the person is worthy of your allegiance. There is a difference between judging and discerning. Judgment is based upon untruth and not the reality of the facts. It is most difficult when a leader is dishonest and does not shy away from calumny. You must be careful not to respect the influential office above the Truth.”
“Some will say anything to protect their own power, reputation and ambition. These are dangerous ones to vote into office or to support in any way. Always look for honesty in leadership.”
